Early Bird Fudge Discounts at The Palms Market

During October and November 2014, we are offering a discount to R30 per packet if 2 or more packets of our fudge are purchased before 11.00am. Our normal retail price is R35 per packet. So even if we are not actively promoting this special offer at the market during October and November, you only have to say that you have seen this promotion on our blog to get the discount. Just get to our table before 11.00am and choose 2 or more from any of our flavours and types.

Popular flavours that we usually bring to the market are: traditional butter fudge; brown sugar fudge (it goes without saying that all our traditional "type" fudges are made with butter); ginger fudge; amarula fudge; double chocolate fudge and Wellington Squares (chocolate, traditional fudge and a shortbread biscuit base).

To be sure that we have your favourite flavour in stock, you are welcome to call us on 021 715 7130 or email us at gloriousfudge@gmail.com

Otherwise pop along to The Palms Market on a Saturday between 9.00am and 2.00pm and look for your favourite flavour. Remember: the early bird catches the packets at a discount!

Our American Style Fudge is Proving to Be Popular

We have recently introduced a small range of American style chocolate fudges to our table at The Palms Market in Woodstock. The four flavours we currently have available in this range are dark choc mint, white lemon meringue, chilli chocolate fudge for that bite with the sweet and our caramel flavoured and coloured rounds. These particular fudges are round and can be eaten as they are or can be cut into quite thin slices and eaten sliver by delectable sliver.

from left to right: chilli, caramel, meringue and mint
We continue to produce our more traditional ranges of fudges as well. This range includes our traditional butter fudge and from time to time the more unusual cranberry or ginger fudges up to the top of the range Wellington Squares (fudge sandwiched between chocolate and biscuit.

The Palms Market is open every Saturday from 9.00am until 2.00pm at The Palms @ Woodstock Decor and Lifestyle Centre. The centre offers free covered parking to visitors on a Saturday morning!

We are there pretty much every Saturday and are located about halfway up or down the market (depending on which entrance you select to the market)! Please note that we unfortunately will not be there on Saturday 9 August. When you visit look for the red table cloth and some of the best fudges in Cape Town!

First the Marula Tree, then Amarula Liqueur and now Marula Fudge

Amarula Liqueur is a product infused with the juice from the marula tree. We have taken this liqueur one step further and blended some into our traditional butter fudge. The resulting Amarula flavoured fudge has already found support amongst our fudge aficionados.

The female Marula Tree (Sclerocarya birrea) is a prolific bearer of the marula fruit. Depending upon the size of the tree, up to 500kg of fruit can be borne by a tree in any one year. The Marula Tree grows mainly in the more northern and eastern areas of South Africa and further into Southern Africa. A number of products are created from the fruit, with the best known undoubtedly being Amarala Cream Liqueur.

Marula fruit and cream are magically transformed into Amarula Liqueur. We then take that bit of magic and with a few tricks of our own, blend it with our traditional butter fudge to create our new Amarula Fudge.

Of course there is no real wizardry. Rather just some careful blending and mixing and stirring together of fine ingredients for your enjoyment

So if you are fond of Amarula and really enjoy some of the best fudge around, now is your chance to taste the best of both worlds.

A good place to try our marula is at The Palms Market in Woodstock on a Saturday morning between 9.00am and 2.00pm. So if you are heading for the market on Saturday, we would be delighted to meet you and give you a taste of our new marula fudge.

Fudge back at The Palms Market, Woodstock

For those fudge connoisseurs who missed us earlier this month at The Palms, we have been back again for two weeks and are there this morning until 2.00pm We took some leave at the beginning of May, but are now back with our interesting and delicious range of fudge flavours.

Today, at the market, we have traditional (just like grandma used to make it), brown sugar, cranberry, ginger, honey, chocolate marshmallow and double chocolate fudges on offer. We also have our decadent, top of the range Wellington Squares (our traditional fudge sandwiched between a layer of chocolate and another of shortbread biscuit).

At The Palms today, Ike Moritz will be back again to entertain us with his easy on the ear selection of songs. So on this brisk morning, why not dress up warmly and pay us a visit at The Palms. We have tasters for all our flavours, so this is a great place to decide which kind of fudge you would like to spoil yourself with or buy as a gift for someone.
