Are you Getting the Best Fudge in Cape Town This Weekend?

To make it easy for you to taste and buy some of the best fudge available in Cape Town this weekend, we are on hand to welcome you at Constantia Waldorf Night Market tonight [5.00 to 9.00pm], Porter Estate Market in Tokai [9.00am to 1.00pm] and The Palms Market [9.00am to 2.00pm] in Woodstock on Saturday morning and then again on Sunday morning at the Natural Goods Market [9.00am to 2.00pm] at The Oval, Century City [once at Century City, follow the signs].

Wellington Squares [similar to Millionaires Shortbread]

So don't miss this opportunity of tasting a great range of fudge products. Look forward to seeing you at a market near you this weekend!

At Natural Goods Market, Century City, Cape Town

The entertainment line-up at the Waldorf Night Market this evening [as sent to us]  is as follows:

17h00: Musical Waldorf students step up to the mike. Don't miss a wealth of emerging talent!
18h00: Ottoman Slap brings you original sounds evoking a rich span of moods ranging from the sultry depths of  the Middle East to the meandering slopes of the Balkan hills.
19h00: Gary Thomas is one of the biggest solo acoustic artists in South Africa today. He has recently returned from a highly successful 2 month European tour playing packed out shows in 11 cities. His new album 'Midnight Atlas' was launched at a sold out run at The National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in June 2012.
20h00: Manouche believe that if it ain't got the swing, then it truly don't mean a thing. Their music reflects this as they blend French Gypsy, Jazz, Swing, Folk, Tango and Waltz into a sound that is very difficult not to get up and dance to.

Fudge is Popular at Night Markets too

Yesterday we attended the City Bowl Market in Hope Street for the first time and tonight we will be making our second visit to the Constantia Waldorf Night Market .

The City Bowl Night Market appeared to have a very good variety of food and drink and our fudge was a great way to end off the meal with something sweet or a gift to take away. We especially approved of the patron who bought 2 packets of fudge before trying anything else at the market and said "now that I've got your delicious fudge, I don't need anything else!"

We look forward to offering our range of pieces and packets at the Waldorf Night Market tonight. Our advice is to get there reasonably early tonight as this market appears to be pretty popular and we may well sell out of certain flavours before the end. The Waldorf opens at 5.00pm and closes at 9.00pm.

If you can't get there tonight then we will be at Porter Estate Market and The Palms Market tomorrow morning as usual.

So come and pay us a visit, taste some of our fudge and take a packet or a piece for someone special or simply indulge yourself!

Thanks for Tasting and Buying

To all who tasted and bought our fudge at the 6 market appearances we had this past fortnight, we would like to extend a big thank you! To newly converted supporters of our fudge, we were delighted with your positive comments. To our regulars, thanks so much for your on-going support. We continue to produce the best that we are able to. We are also developing new flavours. Look out for our NEW Festive Fruit Fudge and Peanut-Butter Fudge - available at the Palms Market in Woodstock and Porter Estate Produce Market in Tokai, this Saturday morning [10 November]

We had a great time at the Constantia Waldorf Night Market recently and look forward to being back there again on Friday 30 November 2012. Similarly, our presence at the Natural Goods Market on Sunday 27 November was a most worthwhile experience and we hope to return there on the last Sunday of this month.

The Waldorf Night Market was a busy and energetic gathering with families and young people filling up the market towards 6.00pm. Our fudge table was extremely popular and many people also came back for another piece or packet.

The Natural Goods Market has a lovely setting on Central Park and within the protection of a giant stretch tent that also gave a special ambiance to the whole affair. In addition, a little train made regular visits to the market, dropping off passengers from Canal Walk Shopping Centre and elsewhere.

Two New Markets for Glorious Fudge this Weekend

We are most excited to be offering some of Cape Town's favourite fudge at two new markets this weekend... at least the markets are new to us.

Join us this Friday evening [26 October] at The Constantia Waldorf Night Market and on Sunday 28 October at The Natural Goods Market at Central Park, Century City. In addition, we will be back at the truly outdoor Porter Estate Produce Market in Tokai and the trendy Palms Market in Woodstock, both this coming Saturday morning. So you can visit us at any of 4 Cape Town markets this weekend to taste and stock up with your favourite fudge flavours.

Which piece would you like?

Both the Constantia Waldorf Night Market and the Natural Goods Market are closed for the winter months and so we are delighted to be able to get on board as their 2012 - 2013 summer seasons gets under way.

The Waldorf Market is open on Friday from 5pm to 9pm and at last count, there appear to be in excess of 100 stalls, ranging from fresh produce, food cooked at the market, to clothing, hand made crafts, sustainability and entertainment. Don't forget to visit us for what we hope you'll agree, is some of the finest fudge to be found anywhere in Constantia or the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, for that matter. You should find us inside the hall (middle aisle, towards the back). Come and taste our honey fudge, our ginger fudge, our double chocolate fudge or our simply plain, but oh so smooooth traditional butter fudge (and many more flavours besides).

The Natural Goods Market is open on the last Sunday of every month during summer (except for December) from 9.00am until 2.00pm. To get to Central Park, once on Century Boulevard, follow the Intaka Island signs to Park Lane.  The line-up includes interesting arts and crafts, great food and entertainment and of course some of the best fudge by far from Fudge Glorious Fudge @ Sugarman. Read more about the Century City Natural Goods Market here. Don't forget the offer of free Ratanga Junction Train Rides...  after you've tried our brown sugar butter fudge, our black forest chocolate cherry fudge and if you are brave enough, our American style chocolate chilli fudge!

Porter Estate Market is open every Saturday from 9.00am until 1.00pm (weather permitting) and is a great outdoor market for you, your family and even your well-behaved and controlled dog[s]. Dogs have been known to try to get a taste of our fudge and who can blame them? They usually have a good nose for something special. But we would rather YOU tried our bite size chocolate fudge nuggets in tins or our new Espresso Wellington Squares - espresso, dark chocolate, fudge and shortbread biscuit. Its like espresso and a bit of fancy fudge, all in one. Dare we say... its dry, but you can eat it?

The Palms Lifestyle Centre is a delightful haven in the middle of bustling Woodstock. The market is situated in the central atrium area with food and drink on the ground level and art and craft tables on the level above. Bring your cash as you will need it [the local ATM is currently being replaced], especially for what many claim to be the smoothest traditional and other flavoured fudges fudges to be had in the City Bowl area of Cape Town, or any other area for that matter. Vanilla fudge is very popular, but then there are our decadent Wellington Squares [some call them Millionaire Shortbread]... doesn't really matter what you call them - just taste them - chocolate, fudge and shortbread. In a word... YUM! Oh yes - covered parking garage for your car and The Palms Market is open Saturday from 9.00am until 2.00pm [irrespective of the weather]. Now open weekly!

So if you have a sweet tooth**, we've got the weekend covered for you ... on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a great spread of fudge around Cape Town, from the Southern Suburbs to the City Bowl to the gateway to the Northern Suburbs.

Next week, look out for our report back about these two "new" markets.. or better still why don't you visit them and us and see and taste and buy for yourself! Put our fudge to the taste. We are pretty sure your taste-buds will be delighted.

About Time

Although we may have marked a little bit of time with this blog, our fudge has been moving along very nicely, thanks to our enthusiastic customers, most of whom come back time and again.

Wellington Squares and our Double Chocolate Fudge
and Coconut Ice in the corner

We have had a busy time both at the outdoor Porter Estate Produce Market and the newer and exciting market destination at the Palms Lifestyle Centre in Woodstock (currently open every second Saturday morning).

We have launched our new sister brand "Sugarman" and he (and sometimes she) is delivering at The Market at the Palms and now also via our new website: www.sugarman.co.za

In addition, we also do supply fudge directly on request. For more information in  this regard, contact us on gloriousfudge@gmail.com or orders@sugarman.co.za

Over recent times, we have introduced or re-introduced interesting flavours including ginger, black forest, vanilla and honey fudges.

So isn't it time you visited us either at The Palms or Porter Markets on a Saturday or sent an email to gloriousfudge@gmail.com anytime?
